About

Austria Trend Parkhotel Schoenbrunn Wien

The Austria Trend Parkhotel Schoenbrunn Wien sits in a grand 19th-century building directly across from the entrance to Schönbrunn Palace’s gardens. Its 312 rooms and suites combine classic furnishings with practical touches like air conditioning, minibars and tea and coffee facilities. The hotel has a restaurant, a bar and a coffee shop, plus meeting space and a garden area.

Location is the standout: the U4 metro stop is across the road, and the palace, zoo and park are a short walk away. Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Prime position opposite Schönbrunn — The hotel sits right across from the palace gardens, with the zoo and park nearby. The metro is roughly 20 metres away, making it easy to reach central Vienna.
  • Spotless, well-maintained rooms — Guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms, which come with air conditioning, minibars and tea/coffee facilities.
  • Service-minded staff — Several reviews describe the staff as well-trained, courteous and helpful, from reception to housekeeping.
  • On-site parking with EV charging — Public parking is available on site, and there is an electric vehicle charging station – a practical advantage in the city.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Value can waver — While some guests found a discounted rate excellent value, the standard price of £275 for a 4-star in this location may not always feel justified.
  • Rooms can feel small — A few guests found the rooms comfortable but on the smaller side, particularly the standard categories.
  • Limited English TV channels — One guest noted a shortage of English-language TV channels, though they added that it mattered little in a city like Vienna.
  • Inconsistent experiences — A couple of reviews were less enthusiastic, with one noting a six-person staff and another rating service lower, suggesting some variability.

“The room was bright and immaculate, with a fully equipped bathroom that had a shower, hairdryer and bath sheets. The hotel was a short walk from Schönbrunn Palace and park, and near plenty of good restaurants, cafes and shops.”

“A nice hotel in a great spot just opposite the entrance to the palace gardens. The room was a good size, and with a 40% discount on the usual price it offered real value.”

8.7Verified guest

“The hotel was spotless, the staff were professional and customer-focused, and the on-site public parking was a real plus.”

8.7Verified guest

“We were very pleased with the hotel. It was superbly located with excellent public transport links, and supermarkets, local shops and great restaurants were all within a few minutes’ walk – so we didn’t eat in the hotel. Free Wi-Fi and adjustable air conditioning were a big bonus. Our Superior Double was spacious, nicely furnished, had a separate seating area, and was very quiet with an extremely comfortable bed.”
